Role Summary

We are looking for a Camera Hardware Engineer who will take ownership of camera system design, validation, and optimization for UI’s product lines. This role involves designing high-speed, high-reliability hardware, performing bring-up and debugging, and collaborating with global cross-functional teams to ensure the best product quality and performance.

You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge SoC and image sensor platforms, contribute to the next generation of IP and wireless cameras, and be part of a team that values innovation, simplicity, and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop camera hardware systems, including schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout review.
  • Perform high-speed signal design and analysis, ensuring proper impedance control and EMI/ESD compliance.
  • Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and system validation using lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, TDR, network analyzer, etc.).
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on system integration, tuning, and production readiness.
  • Drive DFM/DFT improvements and support prototype builds, EVT/DVT validation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Evaluate new image sensors, ISPs, and SoC platforms for upcoming product designs.
  • Maintain detailed hardware documentation, BOMs, test reports, and validation records.

Requirement

  • 2+ years of experience as a Camera Hardware Engineer or related hardware design role.
  • Solid experience in camera system debugging and issue analysis.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed signal design, including impedance control and power integrity.
  • Proficiency with OrCAD Capture CIS, Allegro Viewer, and Power PCB Viewer.
  • Good knowledge of electronic components (R/L/C, Diodes, MOSFETs, BJTs, Logic ICs, Sensors).
  • BS/MS degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ESD/EMI protection and design principles.
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and test equipment for hardware bring-up and validation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with UI camera systems, edge devices, or IP camera platforms.
  • Experience with AC power systems of the Doorbell Camera.
  • Experience with HomePlug / PLC design or PoE-based systems.
  • Experience in Solar Camera, Hunting Cam, or Battery Camera design.
  • Experience with camera systems above 20MP resolution or high-speed MIPI interfaces.
  • Experience with 5G RedCap Camera or wireless edge camera design.
  • Knowledge of network configuration, sensor subsystems, and SoC integration.
  • 5+ years of hardware design experience and leadership in cross-functional projects.
  • Strong ownership mindset, self-driven, and proactive in problem-solving.
