Role Summary
The MDV Engineer is responsible for ensuring mechanical design robustness, reliability, and readiness in the earliest design stage through comprehensive testing, proactive evaluation, and root-cause-driven improvements, thereby accelerating design maturity and reducing product risks ahead of production ramp(NPI stage).
Responsibilities
- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical DQA engineering, with proven expertise in Outdoor products and MIL-STD testing
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering, including material validation, structural stability, mechanical strength, thermal performance, and flammability assessments
- Excellent problem analysis and solving skills, with a positive and detail-oriented mindset toward ensuring a great user experience
- Strong knowledge of reliability test standards, including theory, methodology, and acceptance criteria
- Ability to independently plan and execute test items, including fixture design and setup
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and 3rd party labs
- Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about exploring new regulations, standards, and technologies
- Fair English speaking and writing skills
Technical Requirements
- Reliability Engineering: Deep understanding of standards such as IEC 60529 (IP Rating), IEC 62262 (IK Rating), and MIL-STD-810G, with the ability to tailor test conditions based on product characteristics.
- Great ability to solve problems with statistical tools.
Highly Desired Attributes
- Statistical Analysis: Ability to solve complex reliability problems using statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Weibull Analysis).
- Fixture Design (Strong Plus): Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software for designing static and dynamic test fixtures.
- Automation (Strong Plus): Hands-on experience in building automated test systems using PLC, Arduino, Python, or Robotic Arms.
