Role Summary

Lead mechanical execution from concept to mass production by driving cross-functional alignment, managing schedules and risks, coordinating suppliers, and delivering products that meet Ubiquiti’s standards for premium user experience, cost efficiency, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end mechanical program schedules from concept to MP, including milestones, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead phase-gate readiness reviews and ensure mechanical deliverables.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution against program goals.
  • Track mechanical design progress, change requests, and engineering decisions to maintain alignment with system requirements and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with suppliers (mechanical components, tooling, CM partners) to ensure capability alignment, tooling readiness, and production quality.
  • Manage tooling schedules, build readiness, and production ramp risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical product development, program management, or NPI for consumer electronics, networking hardware, IoT, or similar high-volume products.
  • Familiarity with EVT/DVT/PVT cycles, tooling processes, and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping,
    die casting, machining, etc.), DFM/DFA, and material selection.
  • Strong risk management, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions and presenting tradeoffs to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing full lifecycle ODM programs—from concept alignment, PRD negotiation, and mechanical feasibility reviews through MP and sustaining.
  • Ability to evaluate and select ODM partners based on technical capability, manufacturing maturity,
    cost structure, and execution discipline.
  • Skilled in defining clear roles, responsibilities, and communication models between Ubiquiti and the ODM to ensure ownership and accountability.
