Role Summary
The role will independently collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead multiple projects simultaneously, guiding each from industrial design concepts through mass production within fast-paced development cycles, to deliver exceptional products to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Drive the creation and evaluation of new product concepts to support innovation and market competitiveness.
- Lead and contribute to the assessment and selection of appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop precise 3D models and produce high-quality engineering drawings in accordance with design standards.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve design, tooling, and production issues to ensure efficient product development and manufacturing.
- Plan and execute testing activities, and perform detailed analyses to enhance design integrity and ensure product reliability.
- Conduct research and evaluations of emerging materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to continuously improve product performance and development efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering within the networking and technology industry.
- Demonstrated creative thinking and the ability to approach problems with innovative, “out-of-the-box” solutions.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new knowledge and technologies.
- Solid understanding of basic mechanics, material science, and manufacturing principles.
- Strong root-cause analysis capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Proficient in English with strong reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities.
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience with plastic and metal part design, including injection molding, stamping, die-casting, and CNC machining.
- Hands-on experience with keypad/button mechanisms, acoustic structure design, and TP/LCM module integration.
- Ability to design passive thermal solutions (graphite sheet, heatsink, thermal path design).
- Experience with reliability testing (drop, vibration, thermal cycling, salt spray, key life) and the ability to analyze and resolve related failures.
- Experience in DFM/DFA, tooling review, fixture design, and mass-production ramp-up.
- Familiar with cosmetic surface treatment processes and appearance quality control.
- Experience developing handheld devices such as IP phones, Mobile phones, or portable wireless products is a strong plus.
