Our growth is made possible by the dedicated team of hundreds behind the scenes. From software developers and product managers to designers and strategists, Team UI is driven to achieve our common goal: Rethinking IT.

At Ubiquiti, you’ll heighten your potential and broaden your horizons, all while shaping the future of connectivity.

Role Summary

In the UNVR (UniFi Network Video Recorder) team, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the next generation of surveillance hardware. We're dedicated to pushing technological boundaries, challenging the status quo, and crafting elegant solutions that redefine what's possible. This isn't just a role; it's an invitation to build the future.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and rigorously validate cutting-edge hardware for our NVR products, tackling everything from core motherboards to robust power systems and high-speed I/O.
  • Take charge of schematic capture, intelligent component selection, and meticulous PCB layout review, ensuring top-tier integrity, manufacturability, and adherence to critical signal/power requirements.
  • Lead the charge on hardware bring-up, debugging, and comprehensive validation, covering functional tests, performance benchmarks, thermal resilience, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration with BSP, DQA, SI/PI, mechanical, software, industrial design, and manufacturing teams, driving products from concept to mass production.
  • Translate complex product requirements into precise hardware specifications, robust architectural designs, and comprehensive test strategies for our NVR systems.
  • Continuously optimize products for peak reliability, cost-efficiency, and seamless manufacturability, owning the hardware journey end-to-end.
  • Diagnose and conquer complex hardware challenges, from initial development kinks to in-field anomalies, ensuring rock-solid product performance.

Requirement

  • Proven mastery in digital and analog circuit design, backed by a strong command of core electrical engineering principles.
  • Deep expertise in high-speed interface design (PCIe, DDR, USB, XGbE, Serdes, MIPI CSI, DSI) and critical signal integrity.
  • Hands-on experience architecting robust power supply solutions (DC-DC, VRMs) for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., OrCAD Capture, Allegro).
  • Expert-level command of hardware debugging tools – oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network sniffers – you know your way around a lab.
  • Solid understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC design for compliance.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on, impactful hardware design and development experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving prowess, razor-sharp analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and conviction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in engineering NVRs, surveillance systems, or enterprise storage solutions.
  • Exposure to video processing hardware or advanced storage interfaces (SATA/NVMe).
  • Familiarity with ARM-based SoC platforms and their intricate peripheral ecosystems.
  • A keen eye for Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • You’re a self-starter with a strong ownership mentality, thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you can truly make an impact.
  • A proactive mindset in leveraging AI-powered tools and methodologies to enhance hardware design, analysis, and validation efficiency.
  • You're already familiar with the Ubiquiti portfolio and what makes us tick.
