Join forces with us on our mission to build a better IT industry. We are currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Embedded Engineer (Wireless) to our team in Stockholm, Sweden.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the global team of firmware, digital hardware and RF hardware engineers
- Develop cutting edge wireless broadband products and technologies
- Build firmware for new Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 (802.11ax/be) access points and routers
- Work with Qualcomm and MediaTek vendors to report bugs, perform investigations and apply patches to our WiFi driver as needed
- Develop and maintain user-space services and libraries (hostapd, wpa_supplicant integration, management daemons)
- Maintain and improve existing product firmware (stability, performance, security)
- Optimize wireless performance: roaming (802.11k/v/r), mesh/EasyMesh, airtime fairness, OFDMA/MU-MIMO, DFS/ACS, QoS/WMM
- Diagnose complex field issues using logs, packet captures, and on-device tracing/profiling
Requirements
- 5+ years embedded firmware development experience with C / C++, Linux / Unix platform
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, routing (static/dynamic), traffic control (tc)
- Experience with Wi-Fi stack concepts (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), WPA2/WPA3 security, EAP/SAE
- Experience with ARM/MIPS processors, embedded Linux, Linux device driver development
- Comfortable with Git and typical embedded build systems (OpenWrt/Yocto/Buildroot, cross-compilation, toolchains)
- Ability to work productively and autonomously, whether on a small team or solo
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- BS degree in computer Science, or related engineering degree
- Highly proficient in English (written and spoken)
Nice to have
- Hands-on with hostapd/wpa_supplicant customization and control interfaces
- Experience with chipset SDKs (Qualcomm Atheros, MediaTek) and board bring-up
- Experience working with cross compilers
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits
